FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday, August 1, 1997 - *** Growers in southern Ontario at HIGH RISK today ! ***A cold front is moving through the Great Lakes region and will affect the Canadian and northern U.S. growing regions this weekend. Southern Ontario is a HIGH RISK area on Friday. However, the risk will decrease to Moderate on Saturday and should be Low on Sunday. The threat from this source should remain localized.
Growers in southeast Pennsylvania and Connecticut are at Low Risk today, but will be at Moderate Risk on Saturday as the front draws closer. There is no long-range threat from these sources through the weekend. Connecticut growers will face a Moderate Risk again on Sunday, but Pennsylvania growers should be at Low Risk that day. Elsewhere, conditions in the Ohio Valley, southern mid-Atlantic, and the southern Appalachian Mountains will be unfavorable for disease development this weekend. TK
