FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, April 30, 1997 - Much better conditions for disease suppression in all areas than we had last weekend and early this week. All sources are minimal/low threats the next two days and growers are at no risk or low risk of disease development. Today's trajectory from Cuba takes spores right over Florida by Thursday, but they should all be killed during transport and there's little chance of deposition. Conditions are unfavorable for localized and long-range disease development from all sources. This weekend's weather situation looks pretty good as well, with perhaps one day out of three with clouds or rain showers. TK
SERIOUS SOURCE THREATS: None
HIGH RISK GROWING AREAS: None
***** NOTE: These forecasts/outlooks only apply to disease development from airborne transport of spores!!! We do not have the capability to ascertain blue mold development by other means, such as transplanting of infected seedlings, nor will we attempt to do so. Please consult the Extension Service personnel in your area if you have concerns about these matters! *****
