FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, May 15 - *** Be sure to look at the outlook for source 9, the North Florida sites *** It's an interesting situation, with today's trajectory skirting the GA growing region and then curving back into the Carolinas Thursday afternoon. At this point it appears that there will be too much solar exposure for any spores to survive, and the chances for deposition via rainfall are only OK, so the risk assessment is LOW. Your Forecaster is watching the situation closely; additional forecasts will be issued if necessary. Elsewhere, there is little opportunity for disease development. Trajectories from Cuba are still west over the Gulf, and pathways from the S TX region work northward into the Plains. The weather is going to warm up over the next few days, especially in Texas, lots of 80's, 90's, and some 100's are being forecast for daily highs. That should weaken any blue mold on the wild tobacco out there. TK
