26 April 1996 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Continued penetration of drier air masses into the S U.S. is keeping the disease down, as is the lack of available cloud cover for safe transport. Blue mold on wild tobacco in S TX/N Mexico remains weak, and other than Comitan and Tegucigalpa (for which we have no weather forecasts, so the situation is uncertain), there's no real threat of rain over any source areas this weekend, though some light precipitation may occur over Cuba. With moisture close by, infected areas near the coasts are still sporulating, but chances for survivable transport remain low from these locales. TK

HIGH-RISK SOURCES: None
