Forecast Summary: Tuesday, March 2

Regional Weather (Southeast U.S. / eastern Gulf of Mexico): Strong low pressure system moving through the region Tuesday; drier weather Wednesday. A low pressure area that developed in the northern Gulf yesterday is trekking through the Southeast today ... emerging on the Atlantic side and turning up the coast later today and tonight. High pressure and cool northerly winds will follow. Rain and showers on the southern side of this system contrast sharply with the wintry weather on the northern and later western sides as the Low turns up the coast. Highs from the 30's to the 60's today, mostly 40's and 50's on Wednesday. Lows in the 20's north to 40's parts of FL. Portions of the Southeast could receive some significiant snow.

OUTLOOK

Tuesday and Wednesday:

Tuesday's transport event moves to the ENE, Wednesday's to the southeast. Neither event poses much threat to the U.S. mainland. Low Risk to U.S. tobacco plants Tuesday and Wednesday.
