Forecast Summary: Thursday, March 27
Regional Weather (Southeast U.S. / eastern Gulf of Mexico): Above normal temperatures and no rain. High pressure centered just off the FL/GA coast continues to hold sway over the regional weather. Skies will be sunny to partly cloudy. A front lies stationary to the north and west of the region. It will begin to push south as a cold front late Friday, so northern or western sections may get some isolated or scattered showers Friday night. Otherwise, no rain is expected. Temperatures quite warm for late March with highs in the 70's to low 80's most areas.
OUTLOOK
Thursday and Friday: Both of the known sources are Low Threats to other areas. Trajectories from Cuba move westward each day under unfavorable conditions. Thursday's transport event from northern FL moves up the south Atlantic coastline, but no rain is expected during this event and sky conditions are unfavorable for survivable transport. Friday's north FL event drifts around very close to the source location, again under unfavorable conditions for survivable transport and deposition. Low Risk to tobacco plants in the U.S. Thursday and Friday.
