Forecast Summary: Wednesday, March 14

Regional Weather - Wednesday, March 14 - (Southeast U.S. / eastern Gulf of Mexico): The main weather features are high pressure centered in the western Atlantic and a disturbance fed by upper-atmospheric energy currently in the lower MS River valley. Partly cloudy skies are expected on Wednesday, with little to no rain expected save for an isolated shower in portions of AL or FL. As the disturbance in east TX / LA moves east, increased clouds and showers will enter the forecast picture. This includes western and central sections on Thursday and much of the region on Friday. A cold front approaching the Southeast from the north will impact the region by Friday. Temperatures will be warm with highs in the 70's and 80's, lows in the 50's and 60's.

Outlook: Wednesday's transport event from western Cuba curves northward into the Gulf. Minimal impact to U.S. growing areas is anticipated from this event. Thursday's event moves slowly WNW and at this time it appears this will pose little threat. Low Risk to tobacco plants in NC Wednesday and Thursday.
