Regional Weather - Friday, March 9 - (Southeast U.S. / eastern Gulf of Mexico): High pressure over the eastern U.S. and Gulf of Mexico will bring sunny to partly cloudy skies to the region this weekend. Cloudiness will increase for most areas as the weekend progresses. Widespread rainfall is not expected and most areas will receive little to no precipitation. A disturbance off the GA coast will mean increased clouds and a chance of showers for portions of GA and SC, mostly tonight or Saturday. Also, a cold front will approach inland sections Saturday and Sunday with cloudier skies and a chance of showers. Highs in the 50's north to 70's south today, warming to 60's to 80's Saturday and Sunday. Lows in the 40's north to 60's south.
Forecast: Trajectories move to the WSW each day from western Cuba. These transport events pose minimal threat to U.S. growing areas. Low Risk to tobacco plants in NC Friday through Sunday.
