Site: Keilibia Region (northeast). Light, localised outbreak in seedbeds on seedlings at transplanting stage. Dark air-cured tobacco Variety 8-4/7-2 affected. Site: Gabes Region (southeast). Light, localised outbreak on field tobacco (10 leaf stage). Snuff tobacco variety Souffi Gaves affected. Both sites: Climatic conditions favourable to blue mould. Treatment with Ridomil MZ 58. Site: Asenovgrad (near Plovdiv). First outbreak of blue mould on tobacco in the field (4-6 leaf stage). 5 ha of Virginia 454 variety affected - chlorotic spots with high sporulation. Site: Forchheim Institute. Very light outbreak of blue mould on tobacco in the field. A few flue-cured tobacco breeding lines and one burley tobacco breeding line showed blue mould symptoms on one leaf each (a few sports sporulated). The affected leaves were removed and the tobacco was treated with Forum (15% Dimethomorph). Information received from Dr. N.
