16 August 2004 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

Forecast Notes - 16 August - This forecast will likely be the last for the 2004 growing season. Blue mold is present in nearly all the major growing regions. Other aspects of the forecast center are also demanding a tremendous amount of time. We wish to thank everyone for their support and active participation in our forecasting service !!

 

FORECAST SUMMARY: Monday, August 16:


Monday and Tuesday:

The Weather... A frontal system departing the East Coast will bring rainy weather to the Northeast. Another weak frontal system will move across the northern tier today and Tuesday.... bringing some showery weather to the Midwest and Great Lakes. High pressure will dominant for most other regions, with isolated to scattered afternoon showers possible for parts of the South.

The Forecast... Transport events from the various disease sources will likely have little impact on other growing regions early this week. The more favorable conditions for disease development will be found across the north. On Monday.... Strongly Moderate Risk for southern WI and western MA. Low Risk otherwise. On Tuesday.... Moderate Risk for southern WI, southern Ontario, and the southern Appalachian Mountains. Low Risk elsewhere.
