***** Disease Update - 26 May: More outbreaks of blue mold reported in Georgia ** Blue mold has been reported from 4 new counties in southern GA: Bacon, Ben Hill, Coffee, and Irwin. The most serious is in a 6-acre field in northern Ben Hill County, north of the town of Fitzgerald. On a severity scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the most severity, this outbreak rates a 4. Infections in the other counties are weak (1 or 2 on a scale of 5). We will include trajectories from the Ben Hill County location beginning on Wednesday, May 28.
***** Unsettled weather continues in the Southeast on Monday and Tuesday. ***** A cold front that moved into the region late Sunday will move slowly through the region today and Tuesday. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected. Chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms most areas on Monday, mainly eastern sections on Tuesday. A wave of low pressure will likely form and move along the front tonight and Tuesday, enhancing the rainfall in some areas. Trajectories from the northern FL / southern GA region moved ENE yesterday (Sunday) and will again today (Monday). Tuesday's trajectories will be moving to the ESE. The threat to other regions appears Low. Sunday's conditions were mostly unfavorable near the sources. Moderate Risk today and Tuesday for the source areas. Regular forecasts will resume on Wednesday, May 28.
