5 March 2003 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST SUMMARY: Wednesday, March 5: *** Welcome to the 2003 Blue Mold Forecasts !!! *** We begin with five sources: one in western Cuba, one in the Dominican Republic, one on each coast of Mexico, and one to represent any possible blue mold on the wild tobacco of southern Texas.

Wednesday's and Thursday's trajectories from western Cuba will be moving over northern FL and southern GA. These transport events are similar, with unfavorable conditions for survivable transport and favorable conditions for deposition and infection. Moderate Risk for tobacco crops in northern FL and southern GA Wednesday and Thursday.

Elsewhere..... other source areas in Mexico, southern TX, and the Dominican Republic are Low Threats to other regions over the next two days.
