21 March 2003 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, March 21:

***** We have the first report of blue mold from the United States for 2003 *****
Tom Kucharek informs us that blue mold has been discovered in a plant bed in Suwannee County in northern Florida. No other details are available at this time. We will use the town of Live Oak as the starting point for our trajectories.

***** The strong weather system that has brought so much rain to the eastern U.S. during the past several days is on its way out. Clouds and showers occurring today in the eastern Carolinas and much of Florida will move to the south and east by tonight. Dry conditions are expected for Saturday and Sunday for most of the southeastern United States. The front will stall over central / southern FL on Saturday, so a chance of showers and thunderstorms will persist in that region during the weekend. Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA on Friday before the wet weather ends. Low Risk for this region Saturday and Sunday.

***** Elsewhere.... trajectories from the other known sources do not threaten other regions during the next 3 days.
