15 August 2003 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, August 15:

***** Disease Update - 11 August ***** Blue mold has been discovered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Disease is scattered through the county and the infections appear to be of recent origin. Blue mold continues to spread in the Ohio Valley (new counties in KY and southeast IN) and the southern Appalachian Mountains (Yadkin County, NC). 

***** Expect typical summertime weather for the next several days. ***** Skies will be partly cloudy in most areas. Scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms are possible each day. After some dry weather today in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, a cold front will move into the northern areas on Saturday and approach the east coast on Sunday.

***** In the Southeast and lower mid-Atlantic...... mixed conditions are expected each day. Trajectories will move to the northeast. Strongly Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA. Moderate Risk for southern and eastern SC and southeast NC. Low Risk otherwise.

***** In the upper mid-Atlantic and Northeast.... unfavorable conditions today will change to mixed to mostly favorable conditions Saturday and Sunday, as the cold front approaches. Trajectories will move to the east or northeast each day. Low Risk in these regions on Friday. Strongly Moderate Risk for southern New England Saturday and Sunday. Moderate Risk for southeast PA and northern MD Saturday and Sunday.

***** In the mountains and Ohio Valley...... mixed conditions for disease development are expected each day. Trajectories will move to the east. Moderate Risk for all of KY, central TN, southern IN, southern OH, western WV, and the southern Appalachian Mountains Friday through Sunday.
