FORECAST SUMMARY: Wednesday, May 29:

*** Summer-like weather is expected in the Southeast Wednesday and Thursday. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible near the coast both days. Scattered showers are expected near the GA and FL source areas on Thursday *** Dry weather will continue near the NC and VA source areas for the next two days, with Low Risk to tobacco crops. On Thursday, airborne spores from the VA source area will move toward southern New England. Some spore survival and later deposition are possible. Moderate Risk for southern New England on Thursday. To the south..... trajectories from southern GA and northern FL do not threaten other areas. The weak area of low pressure, which is now off the northern FL coast, is expected to slowly move inland during the next two days. Disease development is possible near the sources, especially on Thursday. Weakly Moderate Risk for southern GA and northern FL on Wednesday; Strongly Moderate Risk on Thursday.
