18 March 2002 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST SUMMARY: Monday, March 18:

*** Disease Update - 13 March: Paul Shoemaker's report from last week indicates that light blue mold activity is present in several locations near Santiago, in the Dominican Republic. Airborne spores from this region could possibly affect the growing areas of the United States. This area is being added to the forecasts.

***** The known sources are Low Threats Monday and Tuesday. ***** A stationary front is positioned across the southern United States. However, its effects will not have significant impact on the transport events for Monday and Tuesday. Trajectories from the known sources do not approach other growing regions. Little to no rain is expected near the source areas, where high pressure governs in most cases. Low Risk to U.S. production areas Monday and Tuesday.
