*** Wednesday and Thursday.... A cold front will move through the eastern U.S. today and Thursday, but its impact on disease development will be limited *** Skies are sunny along all trajectories today. Risk to tobacco crops is Low. The cold front will be much closer to the source regions on Thursday. The biggest influence will be near the NC source. Conditions will be favorable for disease development as spores move to the east. Strongly Moderate Risk for east-central and northeast NC and southeast VA on Thursday. To the south, the transport events from the southern GA and northern FL sources do not threaten other areas. However, there is a chance of localized disease development. Weakly Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA on Thursday. Low Risk Thursday elsewhere.
*** Extended Outlook: Unfavorable conditions in the eastern U.S. Friday. The southern U.S. will be mostly dry Saturday and Sunday. Unsettled weather associated with the next frontal system will affect the Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast.
