FORECAST SUMMARY: Monday, April 15:
*** Disease Update - 12 April: We have received the first report of blue mold from North Carolina *** Blue mold has been discovered in greenhouses in Franklin County, in east-central NC. One greenhouse has shown symptoms for two weeks or longer. Plants have been treated with Acrobat since the first lesions were observed. Both old and new lesions are present in this source of moderate strength. Some plants are being transplanted, and treatment with Acrobat continues. With this new discovery, we are dropping our foreign sites from the forecast rotation. As always, we will inform you if significant events are expected from these areas.
*** Summer-like weather is expected for the eastern U.S. Monday and Tuesday *** Sunday night's shower activity has all but moved out of the eastern U.S. High pressure situated off the east coast will govern the weather for the next few days. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy. Isolated to scattered afternoon showers are possible for some areas. Warm with highs in the 70's and 80's for most locations. On Monday... Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA. Weakly Moderate Risk for northeast NC and southeast VA. Low Risk otherwise. On Tuesday... Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA. Low Risk elsewhere.
*** Extended Outlook: Summer-like pattern Wednesday and Thursday for many areas. Quite warm with partly cloudy skies and a chance of isolated or scattered afternoon showers or thunderstorms ***
