FORECAST SUMMARY: Monday, May 28:

*** Only abbreviated forecasts will be available until Tuesday morning. Your forecaster has taken ill today at work and was forced to keep today's forecasts brief. I hope to return to my duties Tuesday morning, when I will provide details on the transport events from NC and northern FL. My apologies for any inconvenience.

*** Unsettled weather will persist in the Southeast Monday and Tuesday *** A lingering stationary front... combined with plenty of warm, humid air.... will create a situation favorable for scattered showers and thunderstorms over much of the region early this week. High pressure moving down from the north will begin to dry things out late on Tuesday. Mostly dry weather is expected Wednesday and Thursday. In NC, there is HIGH RISK for east-central NC on Monday, Moderate Risk for southeast VA. On Tuesday, there is HIGH RISK for east-central and southeast NC, Low Risk elsewhere. In northern FL..... the threat will remain localized as trajectories move off the coast both days. Strongly Moderate Risk for northern FL on Monday, Moderate Risk for northern FL on Tuesday. The sources in western Cuba and southern Texas do not threaten other areas early this week.
