FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, March 30:

*** Unsettled weather in the Southeast and Texas for much of the weekend. *** In the Southeast.... partly to mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers for most areas. However, the potential for disease development should be limited to areas near the northern FL source region. Moderate Risk for northern FL and extreme southeast GA on Friday. Moderate Risk for northern FL on Saturday. Low Risk to growers on Sunday. The western Cuba source poses little threat to the U.S. growing areas. In Texas.... chance of showers for most areas on Friday, and for northern and eastern sections on Saturday. Mostly dry, unfavorable weather for Sunday. Trajectories do not approach other growing regions.

*** Forecast Note from Thursday..... conditions near the Cuba source were unfavorable for survivable transport of spores. Showers moved into the eastern Gulf as expected. This source was a Low threat to U.S. growers as previously forecast.
