12 March 2001 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, March 12: *** Moderate Risk to U.S. today *** Monday's trajectory from western Cuba moves north, crossing the northern Florida region Tuesday morning. Conditions are highly unfavorable for survivable transport. Showers are likely as the trajectory passes over northern Florida. A similar situation occurred with Sunday's transport event. Given that this situation has occurred two days in a row...... growers in northern Florida and southern Georgia are at Moderate Risk of disease development today. Tuesday's trajectory from western Cuba does not approach the U.S. production areas, so growers will be at Low Risk. Elsewhere, trajectories from southern TX and the sources in Mexico do not threaten any U.S. production areas, with Low Risk to growers.
