FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, June 22:
*** A slow-moving cold front will move through the eastern U.S. this weekend. *** This front, combined with some upper-level energy over the Ohio Valley and southern Appalachian Mountains, will serve to create unsettled weather over the eastern United States from Friday through Sunday. The front will dissipate early next week. However, the chance of daily scattered showers will persist over the eastern U.S. as the upper-level energy will be slow to move out.
*** Here are the risk assessments for this weekend..... On Friday.... HIGH RISK for PA, southern GA, and northern FL. Strongly Moderate Risk for the central and northern NC mountains, eastern and northeast TN, and southeast KY. Low Risk elsewhere. On Saturday.... HIGH RISK again for PA, southern GA, and northern FL. Moderate to Strongly Moderate Risk for all of NC, southern VA, and southern New England. Low Risk in the Ohio Valley. On Sunday.... the weather will be a little less favorable for disease development. Low Risk for the Ohio Valley and PA growing areas. Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA, all of NC, and southern VA.
*** We strongly encourage growers to monitor their plants for signs of disease. Diligent scouting and prompt reporting of blue mold are essential if one wishes to derive maximum benefit from the services we provide. ***
