Eastern U. S. Weather...... A low pressure area is situated over the eastern Great Lakes. A cold front stretches southward down the eastern Seaboard. These features will move east during the next two days as high pressure moves in behind the front. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected ahead of the front. Dry weather is expected in the Ohio Valley and southern Appalchian Mountains both days, with dry weather anticipated along the east coast states on Tuesday. Temperatures will be running near the seasonal norms.
*** Favorable conditions for disease development are expected in southern New England. *** There is Strongly Moderate Risk both days for that region. The growing areas of the mid-Atlantic region, from the Carolinas northward to Pennsylvania, will be at Moderate Risk today, Low Risk Tuesday. The southern Appalachian Mountains and the Ohio Valley will be at Low risk both Monday and Tuesday.
*** We strongly encourage growers to monitor their plants for signs of disease. Diligent scouting and prompt reporting of blue mold are essential if one wishes to derive maximum benefit from the services we provide. ***
