Eastern U. S. Weather...... A cold front is moving through the eastern U.S. today. It will weaken and stall along the eastern Seaboard on Saturday. By Saturday evening, another frontal system will approach the Ohio Valley from the west. The result is a fairly active and unsettled weather pattern from Friday through Sunday. Skies will be partly cloudy for most areas with precipitation occurring in the form of afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
*** Mixed conditions for survivable transport and deposition are expected this weekend. *** Long-range transport and deposition are not serious issues. The Canadian growing areas are at Low Risk. Growing regions from the southern Appalachian Mountains and the Carolinas.... northward to southern New England are at Moderate to Strongly Moderate Risk each day. The Ohio Valley region is at Low Risk on Friday, Moderate Risk Saturday and Sunday.
