9 April 2001 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST SUMMARY: Monday, April 9:

*** Disease Update - 4 April *** Tom Kucharek in FL informs us that blue mold is now present in two fields in northern FL, one in Alachua County, the other in Columbia County. Plants from the previously infected plant beds were used in those fields. Blue mold continues to spread locally in that area.

*** The current sources are Low Threats Monday and Tuesday *** High pressure is in control of the Southeast U.S. It will be sunny and hot for the next two days with no rain expected. In Texas, conditions are unfavorable for survivable transport after release, and washout is likely before trajectories approach other growing areas. Low Risk to all growers Monday and Tuesday.
