*** Unfavorable weather near the source areas on Monday and Tuesday *** Dry weather is expected in the Southeast on Monday. Some clouds and showers will move into northern GA and the Carolinas on Tuesday. Survivable transport from the source area in northern FL is unlikely each day, however. Growers are at Low Risk Monday and Tuesday.
In Texas..... no rain is expected early this week. The threat to other regions is Low, with Low Risk to growers.
*** LATE DAY UPDATE.... First report of blue mold from North Carolina *** This just in via information from Cedrick Jones (Franklin County extension agent) and Tom Melton (Leader, Plant Pathology Extension)..... Blue mold has been discovered in a greenhouse near Rolesville, NC, along the Wake County / Franklin County border. This is a very weak source with only a few lesions present. The grower is taking preventative measures. This source does not represent a long-range threat, but growers near this location should take precautions. The weather will be favorable for disease development on Tuesday. This source will be added to the forecasts on Wednesday.
