FORECAST SUMMARY: Friday, April 13:
*** Disease Update - 11 April *** The Forecast Center staff visited the site of the Rolesville, NC outbreak this afternoon. Blue mold has spread through the infected greenhouse. Diseased plants were also discovered in an adjacent greenhouse. However, the disease is advancing slowly due to an aggressive spray program by the grower. This site remains a weak source.
*** A cold front is moving through the Southeast today *** Showers associated with this front are passing over the NC source at midday. There is Strongly Moderate Risk for growers near the Rolesville, NC source, and Low Risk otherwise. This source is also a Low Threat Saturday and Sunday, as it appears that the next weather system will approach too late on Sunday to bring favorable conditions for disease development. Conditions elsewhere in the Southeast and Cuba are unfavorable through Sunday, with Low Risk to growers. The Texas sources do not threaten growers in other areas this weekend.
