FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, May 1: *** 28 April: We have another report of blue mold in NC *** Blue mold has been discovered in a greenhouse in Moore County in south-central NC. This is a source of moderate strength. Fresh lesions are present and some are sporulating strongly. Trajectories will originate from Vass, NC
*** A weakening cold front will move through the mid-Atlantic states early this week. *** High pressure centered off the eastern seaboard brings sunny skies and unfavorable weather for blue mold on Monday. Low Risk to growers. As this next cold front gets pushed southward through the mid-Atlantic, there will be increased cloudiness and a chance of showers on Tuesday. Moderate Risk for growers in the eastern piedmont and the central and northern coastal plains of NC. Other areas will be at Low Risk on Tuesday. Trajectories from southern TX do not pose a threat to other areas.
