31 March 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday, March 31: *** Complicated situation evolving in the Southeast this weekend *** Another weather system in the southern Plains will move toward the Southeast this weekend.On Friday.... growers are at Low Risk of disease development. On Saturday.... conditions will become somewhat favorable for survivable transport and later deposition. There is Moderate Risk for growers in southwest NC, eastern TN, extreme southeast KY, and extreme southwest VA. On Sunday.... elevated risk for growers in FL, GA, and the Carolinas appears likely, but much depends on the behavior of the system now in the Plains. New forecasts will be produced on Sunday to address this situation. Elsewhere.... the other sources are Low Threats this weekend, posing little danger to growers.
