29 March 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, March 29: *** More disease-favorable weather is on tap for the Southeast *** A developing low pressure system in eastern TX will move east during the next 48 hours. Though conditions are mostly unfavorable on Wednesday, rain will spread over the Southeast Wednesday night and Thursday. Growers in the region are threatened by the source in northern FL and perhaps the source in Cuba also. On Wednesday, growers in northern FL and southern GA are at Moderate Risk of disease development, with Low Risk to other areas. On Thursday, growers in northern FL, southeast GA, and southern SC will be at HIGH RISK of disease development as the weather deteriorates. Conditions should improve by Friday in this region. The sources in Mexico and Texas are Low Threats for this forecast period and pose little danger to growers.
