FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, March 27: *** Highly favorable weather in the Southeast today *** Clouds and showers are widespread across the southeast U.S. on Monday as a cold front moves through the region. The source in northern Florida is a Serious Threat. Growers in northern FL and southeast GA are at HIGH RISK. Growers in the coastal plains of SC and NC are at Moderate Risk. The front will push offshore by Tuesday morning. Skies will be partly cloudy and the trajectory moves eastward over the ocean. Low Risk to growers on Tuesday.
*** All other sources are Low Threats Monday and Tuesday. *** One word of caution to interests in Florida: Tuesday's trajectory from Cuba moves over the FL production regions Wednesday evening and Wednesday night. Conditions are unfavorable for survivable transport, and no rain is expected in Florida during the time of possible spore arrival. The risk to growers is Low.... but there is a slim chance an unexpected shower could deposit a few live spores.
