17 March 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday, March 17: *** All sources are Low Threats this weekend. *** Trajectories from the current sources do not move toward any other growing areas. The lone exception may occur on Sunday, when the trajectory from Cuba may move northward toward the United States. However, the evolving weather situation remains uncertain for this region. Sunday's episode will be watched and new forecasts issued if necessary. Other than the chance of localized disease development in Cuba and the east coast of Mexico, there is Low Risk to growers Friday through Sunday.

Sunday Update: The Cuban source is a Low Threat to the U.S. on Sunday. Skies are mostly sunny near the source region. The trajectory moves slowly northwest.... remaining well off the Florida coast through 48 hours. Very little danger to the Florida production areas. TK
