15 March 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, March 15: *** Moderate Threat to the U.S. mainland on Thursday. *** Winds ahead of an approaching cold front will be from the south on Thursday. Trajectories from Cuba move northward into the eastern Gulf of Mexico, drawing near Florida's west coast on Friday. Conditions will be somewhat favorable for survivable transport and deposition. Growers in central Florida, especially those near the Gulf coast, will be at Moderate Risk for Thursday's transport episode. Wednesday's trajectory from Cuba moves farther to the west, so there is Low Risk for growers today. The other source areas are Low Threats today and Thursday, with Low Risk to growers. TK
