FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, July 3: *** A frontal system is situated from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast *** During the next two days, the more favorable weather for disease development will be found near the front, while conditions in the southern Appalachians and the lower mid-Atlantic will be unfavorable to somewhat favorable. Future movements of the front remain uncertain. The risk assessments are as follows:
Growers in southern New England and southeast PA are at Moderate Risk both days. Southern Ontario growers are at HIGH RISK today, Low Risk Tuesday. Eastern KY, the southern Appalachian Mountains, and eastern NC are at Low Risk today. Eastern NC and the mountains will be at Moderate Risk on Tuesday, and there is Strongly Moderate Risk for eastern KY growers on Tuesday.
