25 August 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

 

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Friday, August 25:

*** Regional Weather - Lower mid-Atlantic/TN-OH Valleys northward through the eastern Great Lakes and Northeast: High pressure is situated over the Great Lakes and Northeast. A cold front now in the TN Valley / lower mid-Atlantic is pushing south. The front will be well into the Southeast / deep South by Saturday morning. Scattered showers and thunderstorms for parts of the lower mid-Atlantic and the southern Appalachian mountains today, otherwise sunny to partly cloudy and dry. An approaching disturbance will bring a chance of showers to the eastern Great Lakes and the western Ohio Valley on Saturday. No rain expected for most other areas with sunny to partly cloudy skies. Mixed conditions expected for most of the region on Sunday, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of afternoon showers. Highs in the 70's and 80's with a few 90's. Lows in the 50's and 60's.

*** There are no High Risk areas this weekend, but the chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms will have most areas at Moderate Risk for one or two days this weekend. *** Moderate Risk for the lower mid-Atlantic and the southern Appalachian Mountains today, Low Risk elsewhere. Low Risk for all areas except southern Ontario on Saturday, which is at Moderate Risk. On Sunday, there is Moderate Risk for nearly all growing areas, but southern New England will be at Low Risk.
