FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, August 21:

*** Regional Weather - Lower mid-Atlantic/TN-OH Valleys northward through the eastern Great Lakes and Northeast: High pressure centered over the eastern Great Lakes will shift to the east during the forecast period. A frontal system will approach from the west. Sunny to partly cloudy and dry both days for the eastern Seaboard areas. Dry today for the eastern Lakes, Ohio Valley, and southern Applachian Mountains. Chance of showers for the Ohio Valley by Tuesday afternoon, with a chance of showers for southern Ontario and the southern Appalachian Mountains by Tuesday night. Highs in the 70's and 80's both days. Lows mostly in the 50's and 60's.

*** Little danger from long-range transport Monday and Tuesday *** Low Risk for growers along the East Coast and the southern Appalachian Mountains both days. Growers in the Ohio Valley and southern Ontario are at Low Risk today, Moderate Risk Tuesday.
