FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, April 3: *** Unsettled weather will continue in the eastern U.S. through Tuesday *** A complex weather situation is evolving Monday and Tuesday as two fronts merge and then plow through the southern and eastern United States. Cloudy with rain today from the mid-Atlantic southwest into the deep South. Partly cloudy with a chance of showers in the Southeast. Best chance of rain will shift to the eastern Seaboard on Tuesday with clearing on Wednesday. On Monday.... STRONGLY Moderate Risk for growers in central SC, central NC, eastern VA, and MD. Moderate Risk for southern New England. On Tuesday... the trajectory out of northern Florida moves eastward out to sea. Growers in northern FL and southern GA will be at HIGH RISK, with Low Risk for other growers in the Southeast. Elsewhere.... other than the chance of localized disease development in western Cuba and eastern Mexico, the other sources are Low Threats, with Low Risk to growers.
