FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, April 24: *** Unsettled weather in the eastern U.S. will continue for the next 4 days...... but sky conditions, cold nighttime temperatures, a decrease in shower activity, and fortunate wind directions will combine in various ways to limit the risk to growers. *** Conditions near the source in eastern NC are the most favorable Wednesday and Thursday. There is Moderate Risk for growers in southeast NC on Wednesday. On Thursday, growers in all of eastern NC will be at Strongly Moderate Risk of disease development. All other growers are at Low Risk. The sources in southeast GA and northern FL will be Low Threats today and Thursday. There will be few clouds, the trajectories move generally offshore, and the chance of rain is very low. The potential source region in Texas also presents a Low Threat to growers the next two days. In the extended period....... favorable weather will return to the Southeast and mid-Atlantic on Friday and Saturday.
