FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, April 19: *** Conditions will be mostly unfavorable for disease development Wednesday and Thursday *** High pressure is moving into the eastern U.S. in the wake of the rainy weather Monday and Tuesday. The High will move to the east today and Thursday, then the next frontal system will be at the doorstep by Friday. Most growers will be at Low Risk today and Thursday. There is one possible exception..... spores released from eastern NC will be moving north on Thursday. Conditions may be favorable enough to put some growers at risk. Moderate Risk on Thursday for Maryland and southeast Pennsylvania.
The sources in Cuba and Mexico have been dropped from the production forecasts. As always, these areas will be monitored for any possible contribution to the spread of the epidemic.
