FORECAST DISCUSSION: Wednesday, April 12: *** Unsettled weather is expected through the weekend in the Southeast *** Many elements are coming together to produce wet weather for the Southeast United States. Most areas will experience weather unfavorable for disease development on Wednesday. Afterwards, however, clouds and the chance of rain will move into the region on Thursday. A low pressure system will plod slowly eastward across the deep South. Current forecasts indicate that it may take until Monday before the chance of rain begins to leave the region. On Wednesday.... growers in northern FL and southwest GA are at Weakly Moderate Risk. Other growers are at Low Risk. On Thursday.... there is Moderate Risk for northern FL and southern GA. Other growers are at Low Risk. For the weekend..... growers in the Southeast, TN Valley, southern Appalachian Mountains, and southern mid-Atlantic states will want to stay tuned to the forecasts. Conditions will be favorable for long-range transport and deposition, and winds will be coming from the south.
