10 April 2000 Blue Mold Forecasts

FORECAST DISCUSSION: Monday, April 10: *** Potential Threat to growers in the Carolinas *** High pressure centered just off the Atlantic coast will govern the weather in the Southeast Monday and Tuesday. As the High drifts east, a frontal system will slowly move closer to the Southeast on Tuesday. Southerly winds will be pushing airborne spores to the north. Conditions in the Southeast are unfavorable on Monday with Low Risk to growers. However, for Tuesday's transport event..... the weather will become more favorable with an increase in cloudiness near the source and a chance of rain later along the forecast pathway. Low Risk for growers near the source; Moderate Risk for growers in the western piedmont of SC and NC. Deposition will take place later Wednesday afternoon or Wednesday night.

*** The other sources are Low Threats Monday and Tuesday. In the extended period..... the Southeast is probably going to have three or four days of unsettled weather from Wednesday through Saturday.
