Research Interests

The major area of our research and extension interests are the effect of management on turkey production, turkey reproduction, and turkey waste handling.

Our research activities include the production of market and breeder turkeys with varying management and feeding programs to determine optimum management practices. We are also interested in the development of new and innovative waste management techniques for recycling turkey litter and mortalities. This includes recycling methods for litter and mortalities which link turkey production to other agriculture production systems such as, but not limited to, beef, dairy, aquaculture, and grain and horticulture crops. Alternative uses of turkey litter and mortality outside the field of agriculture will be explored whenever such opportunities arise.
