    • Grills are NOT provided at the State competition. No GAS grills are allowed.
    • Only the Senior Division (14 - 18) will make a (5 to 12 minute) oral presentation to the judges.
    • There will be a 2 1/2 hour time limit on the preparation as oppossed to 3 hours at Nationals.
    • We do not have the ability for Powerpoint or other computer presentations at State due to the location. These are allowed at the National Contest and the presentations are done in a separate room from the actual grilling.
    • At the State competition you are not anonymous, however at Nationals you are not allowed to identify your name or your State or residence.
    • You will cook two, whole chicken halves (one 4 pound broiler chicken cut in half) at the State Competition (Nationals state four).
    • You can NOT inject meat at either contest
    • You can not marinate meat until the contest officially begins
    • Product must be left intact when served (garnishes are o.k. but are NOT allowed at Nationals).
  • Please visit Turkey BBQ and Chicken BBQ to see more rules that apply to BOTH State and National Contest.
