Roots appear to be rotten (See Roots: Roots Rotten)
Low light level and/or tight spacing
Occasional low temperatures
High or extreme soil moisture contents (very dry changing with wet) (Irrigation)
Low quality root substrate (medium) with little air volume, with the roots possibly developing a root rot
High humidity (October, November)
Too many pesticides applications
Leaves wilt or droop, and usually accompanied by soft must stems on green plants or necrosis on woody plants (wet rot, Choanephora cucurbitarum)
Poinsettia stems with maggots burrowed into the hollow center (Fungus Gnats), with a stem canker (Rhizoctonia)
