The requested registration information must be typed (not hand written) and e-mailed to me or faxed (919-515-7747)

No exception to this Horticulture Contest registration procedure.

The specifics for the Horticultural Contest are as follows:

  1. All participants meet July 17, 2006, 1:30 PM in Room 159, Kilgore Hall, NCSU. Bring clipboard to write on while taking judging and identification exam.
  2. Competition is conducted among teams of 3-4 individuals, ages 15-19 years old. Team members must be 15 years old by December 31 of current year to compete in the national contest. The highest total county score is declared the state winner. The winning team receives three $150 scholarships toward expenses to the NJHA Convention in Omaha, Nebraska, October 6-9, 2006. The three highest scoring individuals become the official team.
  3. You can bring more than one team, but you must designate team members prior to the contest. If you have a team of 3-4 individuals, ages 9-14, you may wish to enter them in the Junior 4-H Horticultural Contest Program.
  4. In years past, several agents have visited the main office in the Department of Horticultural Science to secure parking permits for Brooks Parking Lot located across Hillsborough Street from Kilgore Hall. Agents are requested to secure parking permits from the NCSU Visitor Parking and Information Center located on Yarborough Drive near Riddick Parking Lot. Due to campus renovations, parking will be in the deck located just off Dan Allen Drive.

NOTE: PHOTOS OF COUNTY HORTICULTURAL CONTEST WINNERS WILL BE TAKEN AT KERR SCOTT BUILDING ON THE STATE FAIRGROUNDS AT 6:30 PM. PHOTOS WILL BE TAKEN UPSTAIRS. THE STAIRS ARE JUST INSIDE THE FRONT DOORS TO THE BUILDING.
