Flower/fruit: Violet flower with spurred lower lip; darker towards the center; long-stalked – growing higher than the leaves; hair on inside of side petals  
Flowering Season: Spring to early summer
Foliage: Heart-shaped basal leaves; leaf stalk longer than the leaves
Site: Damp to wet meadows, bogs
