Flower/fruit: 1.5 inch solitary, erect, nodding flower; three white to pale pink to deep rose-colored, sickle-shaped petals; three sepals; yellow anthers are irregularly twisted outward  
Flowering Season: Spring
Foliage: Whorl of three 1.5 to 3 inch elliptical leaves on a green to purple stem; stalked base; abruptly tapering pointed tips
Site: Dry oak and oak-pine woods
