Flower/fruit: Large, dense pyramidal cluster of 1 inch slender, purplish pink, flaring tube flower with five lobes  
Flowering Season: Mid-summer to mid-fall
Foliage: 14 or more pairs of short-stalked to stalkless, 6 inch, opposite, lanceolate leaves; veins branch off the center vein then curve toward the tip of the leaf near the edge and connect with the next vein, forming what appears to be a vein along the edge of the leaf; smooth stems
Site: Open woods, fields, thickets, stream banks
