Life Cycle: Perennial

Height: 1 to 3 feet
Flower/fruit: Yellow, dandelion-like flower heads in tight clusters; 5 to 40 flowers per cluster
Flowering Season: Summer till fall
Foliage: Stems, leaves and bracts have dense, blackish hairs; few if any stem leaves; basal leaves are lance-shaped
Site: Fields, roadsides, sparse woodlands
Comments: Often grows in large colonies
