Life Cycle: Perennial

Height: 8 to 10 inches
Flower/fruit: 1 inch single yellow dandelion-like flower; sometimes two or three flowers; bracts covered with stiff, long hairs and glands
Flowering Season: Summer into early fall
Foliage: No stem leaves; 1 to 5 inch oblong basal leaves; white woolly below
Site: Fields, roadsides, sparse woodlands
Comments: Often grows in large colonies
